03A017- Optin Form Block Settings

Settings Overview

Width

From the drop-down, select the preferred width % you would like for your button.

Layout

This feature allows you to change the orientation of the optin block fields.
From the drop-down menu simple select either horizontal or vertical orientation.

First Name Input
  • Hide First Name Input
    If you don’t want the First Name field visible in your Optin form, simply tick this option.
  • First Name Input Placeholder Text
    To customize the First Name Placeholder text, simply add the text that you prefer.
Last Name Input
  • Hide Last Name Input
    If you don’t want the Last Name field visible in your Optin form, simply tick this option.
  • Is required
    Once this feature is enabled, the last name is required. Users won’t be able to submit the form without entering the information on the box. They will see an alert informing them to insert the required information.
  • Last Name Input Placeholder Text
    To customize the Last Name Placeholder text, simply add the text that you prefer.
Email Input
  • Email Input Placeholder Text
    To customize the Email Placeholder text, simply add the text that you prefer.
Phone Input
  • Hide Phone Input
    If you would like to add a Phone field to your Optin Form Block, simply uncheck the “Hide” option. Once unchecked, you can edit the Phone Input Placeholder Text and a new Phone field will appear in your Optin Form block in the right Preview Pane.
  • Is required
    Once this feature is enabled, the phone is required. Users won’t be able to submit the form without entering the information on the box. They will see an alert informing them to insert the required information.
  • Phone Input Placeholder Text
    To customize the Phone Placeholder text, simply add the text that you prefer.

    NB! In the Web Form for your Optin Form Block, you will need to include a 3rd “Phone” field so that the phone data can be captured. Depending on what system you use, you can either add a field that is used to capture phone numbers or if you are using custom fields, make sure the field name is “Phone”.
Note: Name and email address are forwarded to email systems while phone number is optional (depends on email system). Some email systems API (integrations supports phone number capture but some not)

Phone number is not added for:
Aweber – https://api.aweber.com

If you want to add subscriber’s extra information (last name and phone) to ConvertKit, you need to go to Settings > Integrations > Convertkit and select custom fields for last name and phone.

Input Borders

This feature allows you to add a border around your Block.

  • Borders
    Select whether you want a full border where text is wrapped in a border or simply one side of the text has a border e.g. None, All Border (full border), Top Border, Bottom Border, Right Border, Left Border, Left and Right Borders
  • Border Type
    You can select the style for your border.

TIP 01 In order to see the border around your block, you need to select one of the actual style options available e.g. Solid, dashed or dotted. If the setting is left on No Border Style, your selection in the Borders setting will not work.

TIP 02 To add space between your Optin box and the border, remember to add Padding.

  • Border Size
    You can change thickness of the border by selecting the pixel width you prefer.
  • Border Radius
    You can add rounded edges to the border by selecting the relevant pixel or percentage width. You may now control each side by entering the number on Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Right and Bottom Left box.
  • Border Color
    You can change the color used for the border. To use custom colors, simply paste the Hex code of the exact color you want in field provided e.g. #000000 = black or click on the Color Picker button to the right of the field.
Accept Terms Style

  • Font Family
    Choose a font type for the Accept Terms text
  • Font Size
    Choose the font size you prefer
  • Line Height
    Choose the spacing you want between the lines of text.
  • Text Color
    Choose a color for the descriptive text included in the Accept Terms feature.
  • Icon
    This feature allows you to add an icon to your Optin button (optional)
  • Icon Color
    Choose a color for your Optin button icon
  • Links Color
    Choose a color for the Privacy policy and Terms of Use links
Button

  • Button Label
    Add the text you want to appear on your button.
  • Button Type
    From the drop-down, select the width you prefer for your button from the options provided: i.e. Full Width | 90% | 80% | 70% | Padding Defined
  • Font
    Use this feature to change your button text format such as Font Family, Font Size, Line Height and Text Color
  • Icon
    This feature allows you to add an icon next to your button text.
    From the drop-down menu, select the icon you prefer and then use the Icon Color field to adjust the color of the icon to what you prefer.
  • Background
    The feature allows you to change the background color of the button block. To do this, you can either add a Hex code in the field provided or choose a color from the Color Wheel.
    If the Color Wheel is closed, simply click on the Color Picker button to the right of the background field.
  • Borders
    This feature allows you to add a border around your Optin Form button.
    Select whether you want a full border where the button is wrapped in a border or simply one side of the button has a border. Additional Border settings include Border Type, Border Size, Border Radius and Border Color.

TIP 01 In order to see the border around your button, you need to select one of the actual style options available under Border Type e.g. Solid, dashed or dotted. If the setting is left on No Border Style, your selection in the Borders setting will not work.

TIP 02 To add space between your button and the border, remember to add Padding under Spacing.

  • Spacing
    You can add padding around your button, so that there is additional space. Simply add the numeric (pixel) value to the Top, Bottom, Right or Left padding field provided.
  • Alignment
    The feature allows you to reposition the button on the page.
    You can choose either Left, Center or Right alignment from the drop-down

 

Alignment

The feature allows you to reposition the Optin Form on the page.
You can choose either Left, Center or Right alignment from the drop down.

Spacing

This feature allows you to add more space around your Block.

  • Padding
    You can add padding around your block, so that there is additional space. Simply add the numeric (pixel) value to the Top, Bottom, Right or left padding field provided. This is particularly helpful if you want to add a border around your text.
  • Margin
    This feature allows you to add more space around the Optin Form Block.
    Simply add the numeric (pixel) value to the field provided.
Options

This feature allows you to use the available options for extra coding (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)

  • Element Id:
    This shows the element id of a specific block, which can then be used by CSS and JavaScript to perform certain tasks for the element with the specific id value. To learn more, please check here
  • Classes:
    This feature allows is used to define equal styles for elements with the same class name. To learn more, please check here
Animation

This tool allows you to add animation effects to your Optin Form Block.

  • Type
    From this drop-down you can choose a trigger to activate the animation i.e.
    + None = no animation will be applied
    + On Page Load = the animation is triggered as the page loads
    + On Page Scroll = the animation is triggered only when the user scrolls to that section.
  • Style
    This feature adds an animation style to your Optin Form. Simply choose the preferred option from the drop-down menu.
    + Fade In = the Optin Form block will fade in from the background
    + Scale In = the Optin Form block scales in from the background
    + Top = the Optin Form block will slide in from the top
    + Right = the Optin Form block will slide in from the right
    + Bottom = the Optin Form block will slide in from the bottom
    + Left = the Optin Form block will slide in from the left
  • Delay (ms)
    If you want to add a time delay for when the Optin Form appears, simply add the delay in milliseconds e.g. 3000ms will be 3 second delay.
Mobile

This feature allows you to adjust the spacing when in mobile view.

  • Padding
    You can add padding around your block, so that there is additional space. Simply add the numeric (pixel) value to the Top, Bottom, Right or left padding field provided.
  • Margin
    This feature allows you to add more space around the Optin Form Block.
    Simply add the numeric (pixel) value to the field provided.
Display

This feature allows you to choose the type of device you want the Optin Form block to display.

  • Display
    From this drop-down, you can choose which device you want to display the Optin Form block
    + All Devices = the Optin Form block will be displayed in both desktop and mobile devices
    + Desktop Only = the Optin Form block will be displayed in desktop devices only
    + Mobile Only = the Optin Form block will be displayed in mobile devices only

Once done, click SAVE CHANGES, and your Optin Form block is set!
