02093 – How to setup a Video Block on your Course page

The Video Block allows you to add videos to your Course page.
Users may also switch access to your video controls using the Tab button on their keyboard.

Below is an overview of the various Video Block settings.

Video Type

This feature allows you to add videos from 3rd party platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia or even self-hosted videos.

Self Hosted

If you want to add a video hosted on your website or a platform like Amazon S3, simply add the URL of the video in the field Your Video URL.

More Video Options

This drop-down has additional control features for your video. 

  • Autoplay?
    Enable or disable the Autoplay option

TIP! When Auto-play is enabled, the audio for the video will automatically be muted when users view video using Safari, Chrome or via mobile devices. There will be an Unmute button in the top-right corner of the actual video for users to enable the video audio.

  • Control Position:
    Enable or disable the Video Control Bar
  • Playback Speed:
    Enable change playback speed in the player, 1x by default.
    Speed multiplier: 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x
  • Download Link
    Select whether or not to add a download link option below the video
  • Allow Pause?
    Enable or disable the Pause option for the video
  • Controls Color:
    Change the color of your video player to match your brand.
    To use custom colors, simply paste the Hex code of the exact color you want in field provided e.g. #000000 = black or click on the Color Picker button to the right of the field.
    This will open the Color Wheel, where you can select whichever color you prefer.
  • Video Captions URL:
    Add the URL for the caption or subtitle for your video.
    The caption must be hosted from a site i.e. Amazon S3.
    The caption file type must be a .VTT file.
    You may use audio transcriber such as Trint.
    IMPORTANT: If you are hosting your caption files in Amazon S3, you need to configure the CORS Permissions. For complete instructions, proceed here.
  • Video Captions Label:
    Able to change the label for video caption option.
    By default, the label is ‘caption on’
Video Events

This feature allows you to do some advanced automation by assigning a tag to a contact based on how long they have watched your videos.Under the Action drop-down, select one of the following options:

None
This option is selected by default, if enabled, no action will happen during the video replay.
Send Webhook
If selected, you will be able to send user data to any platform using a Webhook URL.
Apply Infusionsoft Tag
If selected, you will be able to add an Infusionsoft Tag to the contacts profile.
Apply Active Campaign Tag
If selected, you will be able to add an Active Campaign Tag to the contacts profile.
Apply AWeber Tag
If selected, you will be able to add an AWeber Tag to the contacts profile.
Apply ConvertKit Tag
If selected, you will be able to add a ConvertKit Tag to the contacts profile.
Apply Drip Tag
If selected, you will be able to add a Drip Tag to the contacts profile.
Apply MailChimp Tag
If selected, you will be able to add a MailChimp Tag to the contacts profile.
Apply Ontraport Tag
If selected, you will be able to add an Ontraport Tag to the contacts profile.

YouTube

To add a video from YouTube, simply add your YouTube video ID in the field.

  • Autoplay?
    Enable or disable the Autoplay option

  • Show Controls?
    Enable or disable the YouTube video control bar.
    Users can play/pause the video by clicking it.

 

Embed Code

To add a video from Vimeo or Wistia, simply add the Embed code of that video in the field Insert Code.

  • Embed Video Size
    Allows you to change your video size.
    + 16:9 Responsive = the video size will be displayed using the 16:9 resolution
    + Raw Code = the video size will be displayed based on the width and height value in your embed code
App Video Options
  • Self Hosted
    App Download Title

    If you have upgraded and your site is accessible in the mobile app, you may set up the title of the downloaded video for offline viewing.
  • YouTube
    App Download Title

    You may set up the title of the downloaded video for offline viewing from the app.
    App Download URL
    Insert the Download URL right here. Note: It should be MP4.
    In The App Use
    You may decide if you want the app to use the embed code or the download URL as native video.
    From the drop-down menu, please select between Embed Code (this is not guaranteed to work perfectly because this is not Apple and Google wants) and Download URL (recommended to have the maximum performance).  
  • Embed Code
    App Download Title
    You may set up the title of the downloaded video for offline viewing from the app.
    App Download URL
    Insert the Download URL right here. Note: It should be MP4.
    In The App Use

Background

This feature allows you to add a background on your video block. By default “transparent” is selected

To change the background color, you can either add a Hex code in the field provided or choose a color from the Color Wheel.
If the Color Wheel is closed, simply click on the Color Picker button to the right of the background field.

Borders

This feature allows you to add a border around your Video block.

        • Borders
          Select whether you want a full border where the Video is wrapped in a border or simply one side of the video block has a border e.g. None, All Border (full border), Top Border, Bottom Border, Right Border, Left Border, Left and Right Borders
        • Border Type
          You can select the style for your border.

TIP 01 In order to see the border around your Video Block, you need to select one of the style options available e.g. Solid, dashed or dotted. If the setting is left on No Border Style, your selection in the Borders setting above will not work.

TIP 02 To add space between your video and the border, remember to add Padding.

        • Border Size
          You can change thickness of the border by selecting the pixel width you prefer.
        • Border Radius
          You can add rounded edges to the border by selecting the relevant pixel width. You may now control each side by entering the number on the Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Right and Bottom Left box.
        • Border Color
          You can change the color used for the border. To use custom colors, simply paste the Hex code of the exact color you want in field provided e.g. #000000 = black or click on the Color Picker button to the right of the field.
Spacing

This feature allows you to add more space around your Video Block.

          • Padding
            You can add padding around your text, so that there is additional space. Simply add the numeric (pixel) value to the Top, Bottom, Right or Left Padding field provided.
            This is particularly helpful if you want to add spaces inside your Video block border.
          • Margin
            You can add margin around your text, so that there is additional space.
            Simply add the numeric (pixel) value to the Top, Bottom, Right or Left Margin field provided.
            This is particularly helpful if you want to add spaces outside your Video block border.
Options

This feature allows you to use the available options for extra coding (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)

      • Element Id:
        This shows the element id of the video block, which can then be used by CSS and JavaScript to perform certain tasks for the element with the specific id value. To learn more, please check here
      • Classes:
        This feature is used to define equal styles for elements with the same class name. To learn more, please check here

Audience

If you want to take advantage of Audience segmentation, this is a great tool to use.
It allows you to setup custom videos that will display for each Audience group that you have created.

To use this feature
From the drop-down menu, select the Audience you created in the Boosters section.
Once open, you will see an individual video field for each Audience group.
Simply add in the custom video you want to use for each group.

NB! Use this link to access page
To ensure the Audience feature will work, use this Audience page URL in your marketing emails, instead of the standard page URL.

Simply replace the XXX, with the Email merge field used by your Emailing system. That way, when a user registered to a specific Audience group accesses this page, your site will pick up their email and then show the relevant Text linked to that Audience group.

Customers not registered to an Audience will simply see the default video you added to the top Video Type field.

 

Drip

This feature allows you to use the Drip Feed feature for this block.
NB! This option is only available if the Video block is added in a course page.

  • Automated: Based on registration date
    This option will allow you set the drip for this block based on the registration date of the user on this online course.
    You may set the number of days after the registration date.
  • Scheduled: Deliver on a specific date
    This option will allow you set the drip for this block and display the block on a specific date.
    You may set the exact date, time, and timezone when you want to display the block

 

Animation

This tool allows you to add animation effects to your Video Block.

      • Type
        From this drop-down you can choose a trigger to activate the animation i.e.
        + None = no animation will be applied
        + On Page Load = the animation is triggered as the page loads
        + On Page Scroll = the animation is triggered only when the user scrolls to that section.
      • Style
        This feature adds an animation style to your Video Block. Simply choose the preferred option from the drop-down menu.
        + Fade In = the Video block will fade in from the background
        + Scale In = the Video block scales in from the background
        + Top = the Video block will slide in from the top
        + Right = the Video block will slide in from the right
        + Bottom = the Video block will slide in from the bottom
        + Left = the Video block will slide in from the left
      • Delay (ms)
        If you want to add a time delay for when the video appears, simply add the delay in milliseconds e.g. 3000ms will be 3 second delay.
Mobile

This feature allows you to adjust the padding and margin of the video block when on mobile view

Display

This feature allows you to choose the type of device you want the Video block to display.

      • Display
        From this drop-down, you can choose which device you want to display the Video block.
        + All Devices = the Video block will be displayed in both desktop and mobile devices
        + Desktop Only = the Video block will be displayed in desktop devices only
        + Mobile Only= the Video block will be displayed in mobile devices only

That’s it, click on SAVE CHANGES and you are done!
